Senior AI Programmer in UNITED STATES

About the Company:

We are on the search for an experienced Senior AI Programmer to join a well-established name within the games industry. After a string of back-to-back successes with new IPs and titles, they are now looking for a new game AI specialist to join the team to work on the second game within a franchise.

Overview:

• Job Title: Senior AI Programmer
• Location: Hybrid - Irvine, California *Relocation support available*
• Duration: Full-time
• Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities:

• Prototype and build core AI features, systems, and behaviors
• Collaborate with the wider AI / Gameplay team to design and improve AI Systems
• Identify and mitigate technical risks to maintain project timelines.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to align technical decisions with the project vision.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of games industry experience specifically with AI for PC and Console
• Experience with AI Systems such as Pathfinding, Decision Making, and Avoidance.
• Willing to mentor Junior Programmers and knowledge-share across the studio.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to quality and collaboration.

Desirable but not required:

• Unreal Engine experience
