The Director of Operations for the Americas is directly responsible for manufacturing, production planning, packaging, shipping, and supply chain management.
The Director of Operations for the Americas leads a team of six managers and approximately 30 staff. This role operates within a matrix organization with a global supply chain to drive business growth, ensure excellent customer service, and implement new measurement methods to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase capacity. It's important to note that this role is not solely focused on the Americas but is also integral to being part of a global team working towards a common goal.
As the overseer of the Company's production plant in Pittsburgh, PA, and manager of third-party logistics providers, the Director of Operations is not just a manager but a strategic planner.

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Manage our high-mix, low-volume operations for manufacturing, assembly, packaging, testing, and product customization to meet the needs of the CompaCompany'somer base.
Support global BU needs and overall company production capacity and promptly provide high-performance, quality products at a competitive cost.
Set KPIs for the organization and drive the Operations team to achieve safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and budget targets.
Manage the Company's assets related to production and planning, the flow of materials through procurement cycles, order placement, inventory control, and material expediting. Maintains optimum inventory levels to achieve maximum turnover and minimum inventory costs.
Maintains optimal material & labor planning to ensure efficient and responsive production in line with fists and published lead times. Evaluate and set lead times for products to provide accurate commitments to customers.
Sets, promotes, and drives the vision for Operations in the Americas, aligned with the Company's global operations strategy, and fosters adoption/utilization of best practices.
Evaluate departmental constraints and drive Lean Manufacturing techniques throughout the operation to ensure they are fully embraced and implemented.
Develop long-range manufacturing plans to achieve production at the lowest cost consistent with quality standards and customer expectations while positioning the business from an operations perspective to address new markets, scale the Company, and add new product lines.
