Cloud Security Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate with architecture function in designing and implementing security controls and best practices for GCP environments.
• Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess security requirements and provide guidance on secure cloud architecture.
• Assist the vulnerability management team in identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities.
• Stay up-to-date with security threats and trends, and recommend enhancements.
• Assist in compliance efforts by implementing security policies and procedures.

This is a 6-month contract role. Candidates will work 100% remotely during EST hours.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, preferably with experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with security best practices, including encryption, access control, and identity management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• At least 1 year of security experience

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Relevant certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CompTIA Security+, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus
