Two Separate Positions for GIS Developer/Engineer- Please mention for which one you applying, if you know both chances of your selection is pretty high.
1- Carbon Credit Expert- Someone can build on the Carbon credit model using weather and Remote Sensing data.
2- Nutrients and Indices Expert using GIS data for Crop yield and Credit Scoring other predictions.
PLEASE NOTE- WE DO NOT USE ARC GIS/QGIUS/GEE LIKE SOFTWARE IN OUR PIPELINE, WE NEED SOME USE OWN SCRIPT TO BUILD THIS WORK.

The applicant will work with various datasets like satellite imageries, boundaries, weather data, etc. The applicant is expected to undertake the research and operational works as and when required. Remote Sensing Developer/ Geospatial Engineer- Agriculture

Candidate profile
- Bachelor's/Masters in geomatics, remote sensing, GIS, agriculture, geography, earth science, or related field Preferred not mandatory.
What You Will Be Doing
- Processing satellite imageries and developing insights out of them.
- Preparing Indices related to Soil, crops, and Water and converting them into heat maps and analytics.
- Run and develop models for developing insights.
- Feature identification and classification from satellite images.
- Prepare reports and maps
- Handle and support the client deliveries
- Perform any GIS tasks allocated as per project requirements like., digitization, editing, and spatial data analysis
- Capture the ground truth information based on the plans and digital sources provided and perform various analyses on satellite data
- Capturing the Map and other related data into GIS to enable an accurate calculation of the area for all the features
- Perform various image processing techniques like image classification, and GIS analysis to bring out meaningful information and results as per the project requirements
- Create and maintain the database necessary for GIS data storage
- We don’t use any software like Arcgis, QGis, GEE, etc.
- Experience in the Agriculture field is preferable
- GIS and remote sensing expertise, GIS data collection, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, being able to create well-written and detailed reports
Research
- The applicants are expected to carry out the required research for the operational works.
- Bring about their own experience in developing newer data products or optimization of existing models.
- Creation of programming-based models for the semi or complete automation of certain processes.
Experience
- 1 -2 years of working experience in Geospatial projects.
- Hands-on experience with Sentinel and Python programming is an added advantage.
- Must have worked extensively with Raster data and satellite imageries.
- Must have a great understanding of image classification and expert knowledge of the concepts of Remote Sensing.
- An understanding of agricultural remote sensing is desired.
- Good understanding of programming and automation logic
- Should have excellent communication skills and be a team player.
- Should be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Understanding Geo statistics is an added advantage.
- Must have knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
