About This Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager – Chief Information Officer, as the IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, management and performance of the IT functions, products and services.

Specifically, You Will

  • Lead and develop the IT Service teams, focusing on current applications & infrastructure needs, and considering future technologies required.
  • Oversee teams involved in the design, development, and deployment of scalable solutions to achieve business priorities and requirements by managing both the internal IT team and external providers.
  • Align the businesses with Assurant standardised systems that deliver performance and efficiency gains.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget for the short and mid-term through commercial assessment and considerations, and strong cost controls.
  • Work with the RFDS National IT teams to evaluate current and future systems platform proposals and keep the local leadership team updated on impacts, opportunities and changes.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery infrastructure, processes and documentation are in place to enable business operations to continue in the event of a disruption.
  • Provide advice to Senior Management and Leadership teams on IT strategic planning and opportunities, IT risk management and continuous quality improvement.
  • Champion and ensure adherence to IT Change Management controls and process.

About You

You are:

  • A knowledgeable IT Manager with proven experience in designing, developing and implementing systems and solutions
  • An expert IT specialist with experience in IT Infrastructure and cloud services design, and hands-on experience in data management
  • A motivated leader with an understanding of data governance and healthcare data privacy regulations
  • An effective communicator with outstanding collaboration skills and a customer focused approach to service delivery.
  • A solution focused professional with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive work style

To Be Considered For The Role You Require

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or health informatics.
  • 12 years in the Information Technology industry with a minimum of 7 years of management experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 7 years of technical experience in systems and solutions design, development and implementation, and 6 years of technical experience in IT Infrastructure and cloud services design and/or support
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in the implementation of ITIL

Your Application Would Be Enhanced By

  • An understanding of quality assurance and testing procedures, processes and techniques employed across platforms and environments in areas of technical specialties
  • A knowledge of interoperability issues and constraints between core platforms and distributed systems processes
