Job Description

We are seeking a skilled C/C++ Software Developer to join a high-impact project with the largest manufacturer of lithography machines in the Netherlands. This role offers the chance to work on pioneering technology in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities:

• Embedded Software Development: Design and develop software for chip-making equipment that meets stringent criteria for nanometer accuracy, high quality, and performance.
• Scrum Team Collaboration: Work in a Scrum-based team with four other talented and multicultural software developers who emphasize Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
• Applicational Level Development: Focus on OOD design, refactoring, performance metrics, and testing, primarily in an Embedded Linux environment.
• C/C++ Programming: Design and build reliable, clean C code using OOP C style, including typedef structs, pointers, dynamic memory allocation, and encapsulation techniques. Although the current work involves older versions of C++, the roadmap includes transitioning to C++17 within a year.
• Testing & Code Quality: Implement unit testing using gtest and gmock, and conduct code quality checks with SonarQube.
• Systems Design: Participate in systems design using UML.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between functional experts (Mechatronic Engineers) and C/C++ software developers.
• Test-Driven Development: Follow principles of code design for testability, with a focus on low cyclomatic complexity. Write and review test specification documents to ensure high test coverage.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in C/C++ software development.
• Proficiency in OOD, particularly in an Embedded Linux environment.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (gtest, gmock) and code quality tools (SonarQube).
• Experience with systems design (UML).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Mechatronic Engineers.
• Knowledge of TDD and principles of designing for testability is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural team.
