About Cream:

At Cream, we’re on a mission to tackle the housing crisis by turning generation-rent into generation-owners. Our open-banking based platform (currently live in Beta) empowers users with the tools to analyze, plan, and track progress towards saving a deposit for a home, while also simplifying access to the right financial products, including mortgages, to help them get on the housing ladder.

But we’re not stopping there. Our long-term vision is to address other critical financial challenges—like retirement planning and financial instability—using the same approach: combining data insights, financial education, and actionable solutions to help people achieve their financial goals quickly and efficiently.

About the Role:

As the Technical Co-Founder at Cream, you’ll be the driving force behind all software development efforts, taking charge of our mobile app, service architecture, database, and infrastructure. You’ll also play a key role in managing stakeholders and leading a small but talented team, including project managing a Flutter developer and reviewing their code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development Leadership: Take full accountability for all software development at Cream, including the mobile app, backend services, and infrastructure.
• Backend Development: Architect, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using technologies like Typescript, Node.js, and Express.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee and optimize our AWS infrastructure, including DynamoDB, Lambda, SNS/SQS, ECS, API Gateway, and S3, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
• Project Management: Lead and manage a Flutter developer, review code, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet high-quality standards.
• Stakeholder Management: Work closely with the founding team and other stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals.
• Monitoring & Automation: Implement monitoring solutions (e.g., DataDog) and leverage tools like Terraform for infrastructure as code and continuous deployment.
