Sales Manager is responsible for bringing new merchants to a payments company is to drive business growth by identifying, targeting, and acquiring new merchants to use the company's
Payment Gateway.
This involves developing and executing a sales strategy to expand the company's merchant base, building strong relationships with potential clients, and ensuring that new merchants are effectively onboarded and retained.
Requirements:
- Experience in the payments industry, with a minimum of 1 years in business development or sales roles.
- Proven track record of successfully acquiring and managing merchant relationships, with demonstrable results in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- In-depth knowledge of payment processing, merchant services, credit card transactions, e-commerce, and related financial technologies.
- Strong ability to identify leads, develop new business, and negotiate contracts to close deals.
- Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Pipedrive) to manage sales pipelines and track customer interactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and demonstrate the company’s value proposition to potential merchants.
- Strong analytical thinking to evaluate merchant needs, develop tailored solutions, and assess the profitability and risks associated with different opportunities.
- Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with merchants, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of API integrations and how payment platforms interface with other software and systems.
- Ability to travel to meet with prospective merchants and attend industry events or conferences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to target and acquire new merchants, aligning with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to refine sales tactics and identify emerging opportunities.
- Proactively identify, target, and engage with potential merchants through cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and other lead generation activities.
- Present and promote the company’s payment solutions to prospective merchants, emphasizing the unique benefits and value propositions.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline by consistently sourcing and qualifying new leads.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to key decision-makers within target merchant organizations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new merchants during the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and positive transition.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with potential merchants to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Collaborate with product teams to provide feedback from merchants and help shape product development and enhancements.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences and networking events to build brand awareness and generate leads.
