About Cognitive GeoInterpretation: CGI is a Tallahassee, FL based startup that is working to solve seismic imaging problems using recently emerging AI techniques. Specifically, we work on the intersection of compression, deep neural networks, and a computational engine that leverages both the cloud and the browser. Where: Tallahassee, FL (relocation reimbursement up to $4,500)


Reqs: PhD in Computer Science. MS with Thesis/experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Algorithm Development and Model Training: Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms and models for interpretation.ai
  • Data Preprocessing: Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into suitable format for training models. Conduct feature engineering to extract relevant information and improve model performance
  • Model Evaluation and Validation: Perform rigorous evaluation of models using appropriate metrics and validation techniques to ensure robust performance. Implement techniques like cross-validation and hyperparameter tuning for model optimization
  • Deployment and Integration
  • Monitoring and Maintenance
  • Data Pipeline Management
  • Collaboration with Data Scientist, Engineers, and Geoscientists
  • Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and related fields. Experiment with cutting-edge techniques and algorithms to enhance model performance. Continuous learning and skill development
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Security and Compliance



Educational Responsibilities

  • In this role, you would be responsible for curriculum development of an CS/ML curriculum to educate beginner students. 
  • This would be between 4-8 hours of your work per week


Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of various machine learning algorithms, such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning techniques
  • Hands on experience with Python
  • Knowledge of software development principles, familiarity with tools like Git for version control, and the ability to write clean, maintainable code
  • Deployment and Productionizaiton- skills in deploying models into production environments, containerization (e.g. Docker), and basic knowledge of platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Familiarity with Databases and data manipulation tools like SQL or NoSQL databases
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills
  • Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
