The Team:
Our software team is responsible for architecting, developing, testing, and maintaining software for several projects. We develop complex systems involving a wide range of software development, including real-time embedded systems, cloud computing, and frontend applications, primarily to support aircraft operations. Trident engineers and developers are responsible for the entire chain of software development, from initial concept and design to implementation, testing, and deployment. The team also gets opportunities to participate in live flight testing the software. The Positions:
Full-Stack Software Engineer (1)
Back-End Software Engineer (1)
Front-End Software Engineer (1)
We are looking for experienced software engineers to contribute to the development of both front-end and back-end solutions that interface with lower-level systems to read sensor data, process information (Back-End), and deliver a seamless user experience (Front-End). These position will collaborate closely with the hardware team to create tightly integrated hardware and software systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in computer science and be proficient in the principles of software architecture and development. Responsibilities will include implementing high-performance back-end software and/or modern front-end applications, applicable to position, to provide a high-quality user experience.
Responsibilities:
● Architect software solutions to meet project requirements
● Document software requirements, architecture and APIs
● Implement a wide range of software solutions to support a variety of ongoing projects
● Work within an Agile environment, respond to change quickly, and work closely with team members
● Thoroughly test code to ensure quality and efficiency
● Collaborate closely with companion hardware teams to deliver integrated systems
● The ideal candidate is self-motivated and confident in researching novel solutions to complex problems
Experience and Qualifications (Full Stack):
● Experience with modern C++ and Go for backend software is preferred
● Experience with React and NextJS for frontend development
● Experience with front-end testing libraries such as Jest and Cypress is a bonus
● Solid foundation in object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures
● Experience with MongoDB or similar database
● Experience with microservice development and distributed computing
Experience and Qualifications (Front-End):
● Experience with React, NextJS and Typescript for front-end development
● Understanding of fundamental front-end languages such as HTML and CSS
● Experience with front-end testing libraries such as Jest and Cypress
● Experience with mapping libraries such as CesiumJS
● Ability to rapidly mockup and prototype UI using tools such as Figma
Experience and Qualifications (Back-End):
● Experience with modern C++, Go, and Python is preferred
● Solid foundation in object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures
● Experience with MongoDB or similar database
● Experience with microservice development and distributed computing
Experience and Qualifications (All)
● Experience with Git version control
● Self-learner, highly motivated, and team oriented
● Some experience with embedded systems is a plus
● Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines is highly valuable
● Familiarity with aviation is not required but always an added bonus
Education:
● A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required. A master’s or higher degree is preferred.

Benefits:
This job is a full-time, hybrid position. Around half of each week is dedicated to in-person collaborative sessions at our office in Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah. The other half of each week is remote work, where flexibility of hours is paramount. We do not support fully remote positions. Relocation assistance will be considered for the right candidate.
● Salary from $85,000 and up depending on experience
