We are a global healthcare leader with a diversified portfolio of innovative medicines, vaccines, and animal health products. The Discovery Informatics group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled software engineer with strong data science skills to support the development, maintenance and optimization of drug discovery and development workflows. The position will involve regular interactions with scientists as part of a cross-regional and multidisciplinary network of researchers, computational biologists, cheminformaticians, data engineers, data scientists and software engineers.
In this role, you will
- Guide the development, optimization and scaling up of pipelines and applications across different areas of drug discovery and development
- Contribute to one or several small software development and AI projects
- Prototyping, test and validate novel scientific solutions algorithms, machine learning models, applications, pipelines and dashboards
- Extract and aggregate data from various data sources
- Process, integrate, visualize and model data
- Build end-to-end pipeline of data processing on regular basis
Required Experience And Skills
- MSc or PhD degree in computer science, software engineering, data science or related field
- Good problem-solving skills and high professional standards with strong ability to prioritize and work under pressure
- Strong communication skills and ability to simplify and explain complex problems to data scientists and software engineers
- Programming skills in a subset of the following Python, Java/C++, R/Shiny, Matlab, JS Linux/Unix, SQL and versioning control e.g. Git
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience developing machine and deep learning models via Python (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow etc)
