Job Title: Tech Lead – Full Stack Development
Location: Hamburg, Germany (Hybrid, Visa sponsorship available)
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Tech Lead to guide a cross-functional team and lead the development of a cutting-edge programmatic platform in the advertisement industry. This full-time role is ideal for experienced developers with a strong leadership background who thrive in fast-paced startup environments.
You will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of a major ad platform, specifically focusing on the publisher/supply side services.
As a Tech Lead, you will be hands-on initially, working closely with a talented team of developers and product leads, before transitioning into an overarching leadership position. You will oversee multiple sub-teams, help scale the team further, and have the opportunity to drive innovation in a highly technical and evolving field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a cross-functional development team of up to 6 engineers (frontend, backend, QA) within a larger 15-person team.
- Collaborate with product leads and programmatic teams to build scalable and efficient solutions for a programmatic mediation and bidding platform.
- Develop and oversee the technical architecture of a full-stack environment, focusing on TypeScript and React on the frontend, and Golang on the backend. Knowledge of Vue, Angular, or Node.js is also highly appreciated.
- Play an integral role in the supply side of the platform, working to improve dashboards, bidding platforms, and services for publishers and advertisers.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
- Stay hands-on with development initially, with a clear growth trajectory towards a higher-level oversight and architectural role.
- Be actively involved in the hiring process as the team continues to scale.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of leadership experience in a tech lead role, managing teams in a cross-functional setup (QA, Frontend, Backend).
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and frontend frameworks such as React.
- Solid backend development skills, with Golang.
- Previous experience working on complex projects such as dashboards or bidding platforms is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate the challenges of fast-paced startup environments.
- Start-up/scale-up experience is a bonus!
