Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade software using Scala.
Develop backend services, APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
Apply functional programming principles and idiomatic Scala development practices.
Design concurrent and asynchronous applications using suitable Scala libraries and frameworks.
Develop high-throughput services capable of supporting demanding workloads.
Design and implement scalable distributed systems and service architectures.
Develop RESTful APIs and service interfaces.
Implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing workflows.
Work with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka or comparable technologies.
Develop data-processing applications using Scala-based technologies.
Work with Apache Spark and distributed data-processing frameworks where applicable.
Design efficient data-processing pipelines for large-scale datasets.
Optimize batch and streaming data-processing workloads.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
Design systems for horizontal scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance.
Develop authentication and authorization mechanisms for backend applications.
Develop unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end tests.
Conduct code reviews and provide detailed technical feedback.
Investigate production incidents, application failures, data-processing errors, and performance issues.
Implement observability through structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, health checks, and alerting.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Scala applications.
Manage Scala build configurations using tools such as sbt and related build technologies.
Support containerized Scala applications using Docker and Kubernetes where applicable.
Work with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or comparable cloud services where required.
Analyze CPU, memory, garbage-collection, thread, network, and database performance.
Optimize JVM performance, application memory usage, garbage collection, and runtime behavior.
Develop reusable Scala libraries, frameworks, services, and engineering components.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers.
