Solid NestJS knowledge is a hard requirement!
We cannot relocate from outside Europe, only inside Europe!
Visa sponsorship & 30% ruling for locals in Netherlands is possible!
If you love impact, this is a great opportunity. After a very successful recent seed round, you will be part of the core team in the next big Payments adventure. With a founder team that comes from former top3 PSPs they know where to add value, a huge market advantage. With a super strong pre-seed and recent seed rounds driven by champions league VC funds this is a great chance to still get in early. They work with a stock structure that you can vest any time which is very interesting.
Your job and the requirements
Ownership, impact and greenfield are the key words for this role. Payments means mission critical, robust and very scalable systems that are complex for many reasons. This product is servicing platforms, not single ecommerce shops for example, and this means multi-tenancy in the product that is being offered in multiple shapes and forms. Super interesting to work on and there’s also a huge appetite from the market for this product so the future looks bright. You don’t need experience in multi-tenancy but you should be interested in complex challenges at scale.
The team is awesome and together you are setting up and building (domain-driven) designs for super scalable architectures making sure everything is tested properly and the best tool/tech for the problem at hand is used. You build it, you run it, test it. The DevOps (Cloud) part of the role is not mandatory, this could also be something you can learn on the job.
There is no legacy, you are able to use the latest in tech/tooling and the team is able to innovate the payment space in places the big tech cannot go. The current stack is based on Serverless (AWS), TypeScript (types, classes, etc.), NestJS, (No)SQL Databases like Postgres and DynamoDB and scalable API development. You don’t need expert AWS knowledge but fluency in TypeScript (classes, types, etc.) and NestJS is required!
Having fun on the job is important as well so we are looking for bright personalities with positive vibes! Obviously a start-up requires people with a drive to impact and innovate. Fluent communication in English is mandatory!
Company
Founded by 3 payments experts from well-known Payment companies they secured one of the highest pre-seed rounds in the Netherlands and recently closed a very solid seed round. The VC sheet is one to be proud of with Internationally recognized names on it. The team is 15 at the moment and they are not looking to swamp the team by double, triple, quadruple in size in a matter of months but steadily grow and onboard new family members to the Engineering team(s). The product will be expanded with a POS offering during this year which will give them an omnichannel set-up which puts them in an even better spot in the market. Very exciting times!
The hybrid work model is 50/50 and working remote longer periods of time is trust that you can earn. Please be aware that this is not, and will never be a full remote company. Working remote for a longer period of time is fine once you’ve shown to be impactful, output driven and able to take ownership. They operate from a cool office space in Amsterdam Noord. Lunch is taken care of, both warm or cold and healthy or not! Your ping pong, table soccer, inhouse cinema/game area, etc is all there!
Salary and benefits
The base compensation is good and the stock package makes it very interesting. You will be offered a SAR stock package that gives you instant value and you’re able to vest it as well. The founders are very realistic about compensation and I believe this proposition is not typical Dutch but more US-like. For International people, willing to relocate to the Netherlands they will offer a relocation package, VISA sponsorship and 30% ruling.
