Design and deploy perception algorithms to enable humanoid robots to navigate dynamic, unstructured environments safely. Lead the implementation of state-of-the-art ML models for human detection and hazard reasoning while optimizing for embedded systems. Requires 5+ years of robotics perception experience and an advanced degree in AI, Robotics, or Computer Science.

Key Highlights
Own the design of algorithms allowing Digit to perceive and react to humans and hazards in open, dynamic spaces.
Optimize deep neural networks and data pipelines for efficient execution on CPU and GPU embedded architectures.
Establish verification and validation standards for safety-critical ML-based perception models.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy perception algorithms such as human detection to enable safety and efficiency in dynamic environments.
Evaluate emerging research and technology to drive the adoption of state-of-the-art perception models.
Promote best practices in model design, implementation, and testing to deliver scalable software.
Optimize deep neural networks and associated data pipelines for embedded systems using CUDA inference and model structure optimization.
Set standards for verification and validation of ML-based perception models for rare and safety-critical scenarios.
Collaborate with navigation, controls, and hardware teams to integrate perception models into the overall robot architecture.
