Work AI-native by delegating research and implementation to agents while staying accountable for output
Fully remote, async-first culture with minimal meetings, strong writing culture, and periodic in-person team meetups
Real platform ownership including managed cloud infrastructure built on Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and FluxCD
Key Responsibilities
Execute on the design and implementation of high-performance Elixir/Phoenix-based systems such as Document Engine and Document Web Services API
Build features with efficient database usage at their core, including well-designed schemas, lean queries, smart indexing, batching, and avoiding unnecessary round trips
Find and remove database bottlenecks by profiling query patterns, reading query plans, and reworking data access
Ensure Document Engine performs well for customers with very large document and annotation volumes in managed cloud or self-hosted PostgreSQL setups
Design and run safe, zero-downtime migrations as the product and its data grow
Build systems and workflows that use AI to speed up engineering work, from agent-driven investigation to automating repetitive tasks
Take ownership for architecture, tools, and services while contributing to product development and customer success
Collaborate closely with a small, remote-first engineering team to ship features, debug hard problems, and improve reliability
