Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end QA for web-based products including manual, exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across browsers and environments

Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases, identifying edge cases and risks early in the development lifecycle

Design, build, and maintain automated tests in JavaScript/TypeScript using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO

Determine the right balance of manual and automated testing and continually improve coverage, reliability, and efficiency

Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot failures, distinguishing application defects from test or environmental issues

Read and understand application code to build effective tests, investigate defects, and collaborate directly with engineers

Test and troubleshoot REST APIs, network requests, browser behavior, and backend services

Use databases and SQL to validate application behavior and investigate data issues across the stack

Investigate complex issues with browser developer tools, logs, and network inspection, and provide detailed, reproducible bug reports

Participate in sprint planning, refinement, release planning, and retrospectives, helping assess release readiness and risk

Help define and improve QA processes, automation strategy, testing standards, and quality metrics in partnership with the Head of QA

Act as a technical QA leader who helps the organization scale its engineering and QA practices
