Senior Platform Engineer | New York City | $230,000 to $275,000 + equity
TechShack are hiring for a venture-backed company building the execution platform behind complex AI and human workflows.
This is the core platform seat. You will build the TypeScript framework, SDK and runtime that every other engineer builds on, sitting on a distributed, event-sourced architecture designed for correctness, replayability and scale. Greenfield, senior IC, no management track.
What you will build
- The TypeScript SDK, framework and runtime powering long-running AI and human workflows
- Distributed event-sourced systems. Event stores, CQRS, projections and replayable state
- Workflow execution models, orchestration and state machines for long-running processes
- Clean developer-facing abstractions that make hard distributed systems simple to build on

What you need
- Senior software engineering background with deep distributed systems experience
- Hands-on event sourcing, CQRS, projections, event stores or replayable architectures
- Strong TypeScript, ideally including advanced type-system design
- Experience designing SDKs, frameworks, runtimes or developer platforms
- Strong hands-on coding. This is an engineering role, not architecture only
