About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lead WordPress & PHP Developer with AI skills to join our dynamic, fully remote team. This role demands a seasoned developer with over 7 years of proven experience in PHP and WordPress development, capable of leading complex projects from conception to deployment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites, WooCommerce stores, and Elementor-based solutions. You will work closely with our project managers, digital marketing teams, and clients to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Your expertise in AI tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms, will be instrumental in streamlining development workflows, enhancing code quality, and driving innovation. The role offers an opportunity to influence project success, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the company's reputation for technical excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in PHP and WordPress development, demonstrating a strong portfolio of custom themes and plugins. Proficiency in Core PHP, Object-Oriented PHP, and frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP is essential. Advanced knowledge of WordPress hooks, filters, custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields is required. Expertise in WooCommerce customization and Elementor/Elementor Pro development is mandatory, including HTML/CSS to Elementor conversions. Candidates should have a solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery, with a focus on responsive front-end development. Deep familiarity with MySQL, database architecture, and query optimization is necessary. Experience integrating REST APIs, third-party services, CRMs, and payment gateways is also vital. Knowledge of web security best practices, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1), Core Web Vitals, and SEO/AEO strategies is expected. Additionally, practical experience with AI tools for coding, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

The Senior Lead WordPress & PHP Developer will be responsible for leading the technical development of innovative websites and applications. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing custom WordPress themes and plugins, developing WooCommerce solutions, and converting static HTML/CSS pages into fully functional Elementor websites. You will ensure the responsiveness, performance, and accessibility of websites across devices and browsers. The role involves integrating third-party APIs, CRMs, and payment systems, as well as optimizing websites for search engines and AI visibility through structured data, schema markup, and semantic HTML.
