About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Software Engineer II to join the Receiver/Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department at RTX. This department specializes in designing, developing, and supporting land and sea-based radar systems. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the sustainability and performance of our current radar products. The ideal candidate will possess experience with legacy radar hardware and software technologies and demonstrate an interest in transitioning these systems to modern platforms. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, patching, and maintaining deployed radar systems, ensuring their operational effectiveness. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Marlborough, MA, operating during first shift hours. Collaboration with hardware and firmware engineers will be essential to address technical challenges and deliver innovative capabilities that meet evolving mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in software development or related fields.
• Proficiency in C++ (C++17/20), including object-oriented design and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience developing and working within Linux environments, utilizing command-line workflows, build systems, and debugging tools.
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts and tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes, including automated build and test pipelines.

• Experience with MATLAB, including algorithm development, modeling, and numerical analysis.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory for eligibility.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in modern C++ development, supporting the development of tools and applications for radar systems.
• Develop and test digital receiver/exciter (DREX) components using Linux, C++, MATLAB, and related tools to support next-generation radar systems.
• Collaborate closely with hardware and firmware engineers to troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver advanced capabilities.
• Maintain and patch existing radar hardware and software systems to ensure continuous operational readiness.
