Salary: $200,000 - $400,000 annually + competitive equity
Employment: Full-time
Location: San Francisco, CA - onsite, 5 days per week

They are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer who enjoys building, takes initiative, and drives projects from idea to production. You will own significant parts of the backend, ship consumer-facing features, and solve technical challenges that directly influence product performance and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own backend features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to launch and ongoing improvement.
- Build consumer-facing functionality that delivers measurable business impact.
- Solve data-driven engineering problems, including matchmaking, fraud prevention, and related platform challenges.
- Develop and improve backend systems supporting real-money consumer experiences.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, experimentation platforms, and engineering workflows to help the team ship quickly and reliably.
- Work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects to completion.
- Identify opportunities to improve products and systems, taking on broader ownership as you deliver results.

- 3–8 years of experience in backend software engineering.
- Experience at a fast-growing startup or a company with a high engineering bar, with demonstrated initiative and independent ownership.
- Proficiency in Go (Golang), or strong backend engineering skills with a demonstrated ability and willingness to ramp up quickly in Go.
- Experience owning and shipping consumer-facing backend features from concept to production, with measurable results.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs, and business impact.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work onsite in San Francisco five days per week, or willingness to relocate.
