About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Mobile Engineer to provide technical leadership for a modern, customer-facing mobile platform. This is a highly influential engineering role focused on shaping the long-term architecture of React Native and native iOS applications while remaining hands-on with complex, business-critical development.
You'll drive mobile engineering strategy, solve challenging technical problems, establish engineering standards, and mentor other engineers while partnering closely with Product, Design, Backend, Platform, and Security teams.
What You'll Do
- Define and evolve the architecture for React Native and native iOS applications.
- Lead architecture reviews and establish mobile engineering standards and best practices.
- Drive technical decisions around scalability, performance, security, reliability, and developer productivity.
- Design reusable platform components and native modules that improve development velocity.
- Lead development of complex, business-critical mobile features and initiatives.
- Improve application performance, memory usage, battery efficiency, and overall reliability.
- Drive mobile testing strategy, release quality, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Partner across Product, Design, Backend, Platform, and Security teams on scalable solutions.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the mobile engineering organization.
- Help shape the long-term mobile technology roadmap.
- 8+ years of professional mobile development experience.
- 5+ years of production React Native experience.
- Expert-level Swift and native iOS development experience.
- Deep knowledge of the iOS SDK, UIKit, SwiftUI, application lifecycle, memory management, and concurrency.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React Native experience.
- Experience architecting large-scale, production mobile applications.
- Experience designing reusable mobile components, native modules, and scalable application architectures.
- Strong understanding of mobile security, performance optimization, reliability, and application scalability.
- Experience balancing React Native and native development based on technical requirements.
- Strong knowledge of App Store releases and mobile platform governance.
- Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.
- Strong Git, automated testing, and CI/CD experience.
- Experience with Expo, GitLab, or similar mobile delivery tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
