Spectral Labs is building foundation models for 3D CAD and engineering design. Today's AI models are powerful with language, but they fundamentally lack spatial understanding. Spectral Labs is training models that can generate structured, editable 3D CAD and reason about physical systems.
Their first product, SGS-1, became the first generative model for structured 3D parametric CAD and has reached 100K+ users.
Now they're building SGS-2 β with the ambition of creating the first AI capable of doing the work of a licensed mechanical engineer. π₯ What you'll work on As a New Grad Engineer, you'll join a 12-person, highly technical team and work as a generalist across:
- Geometry and data pipelines β parse CAD, convert formats, extract features, and verify outputs
- Evaluation harnesses β build tooling to measure whether models are actually improving
- Training infrastructure β instrument experiments, debug failures, and analyze results
- Internal tools β eliminate friction across research and engineering workflows
- Research and engineering projects β start with well-scoped problems and grow your ownership over time
