Summary
The Senior Specialist, Email Marketing Operations supports the execution of client marketing campaigns within Advertising Operations, with primary responsibility for eBlast development, audience segmentation, deployment, quality assurance, and performance reporting. The role applies advanced marketing automation expertise to ensure campaigns are delivered accurately, on time, and in accordance with contractual commitments, SHRM standards, and applicable legal requirements, serving as a day-to-day point of contact for assigned partners and ensuring seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Execute marketing plans for Brand Partnership campaigns, including eBlasts, events, webinar promotions, and executive positioning, in alignment with established strategy, business priorities, and contractual commitments. Manage audience segmentation, targeting, and deployment for partner campaigns in Marketo, including advanced filters to prevent audience fatigue and maintain high engagement rates.
- Serve as the day-to-day campaign execution contact, coordinating with Advertising, Sales, Product, and Events teams to support timely, client-focused delivery. Ensure all campaigns adhere to legal and industry best practices, including CAN-SPAM compliance.
- Craft partner emails in Marketo with attention to SHRM branding, tone, and engagement best practices.
- Performance Optimization: Monitoring campaign performance, prepare reports, and recommend enhancements to improve future campaign effectiveness. Conduct research on client organizations to inform campaign execution and identify insights for Advertising and Sales partners. Coordinate internally across sales, marketing, and events teams to ensure timely delivery of partnership commitments.
- Support achievement of revenue and engagement goals for assigned accounts, tracking against performance benchmarks.
- Position SHRM as a trusted advisor and thought leader by incorporating organizational research, workforce insights, and HR trends into client conversations, as appropriate.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in marketing automation, digital marketing, and email operations.
- Experience supporting sales or partnership activities within HR-related programs or equivalent professional services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Marketo), PowerPoint, Excel, and related tools.
- Strong research and outreach skills to identify potential prospects and partnership opportunities.

- Ability to gain a thorough understanding of SHRM products and services to collaborate closely with internal stakeholders who have delivery responsibility for SHRM offerings and to bundle these offerings in creative ways to meet client requirements.

This position operates in a typical office environment (which includes a home office setting) and requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements may include:

Fully Remote:
Employees must be available during standard business hours, with core hours beginning between 8:00–9:00 a.m. and concluding between 5:00–6:00 p.m.
Travel: Moderate 20 – 30%
The hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $98,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
