Role Description

The Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) Engineer will design, implement, and verify FPGA-based solutions for semiconductor and embedded applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing RTL code, integrating IP cores, performing simulation and debugging, and optimizing designs for performance, power, and area. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into robust FPGA architectures, validate signal processing algorithms on hardware, and support bring-up and testing in the lab. The FPGA Engineer will also contribute to documentation, design reviews, and continuous improvement of design and verification methodologies. This is a full-time, on-site role based in California, United States.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering with practical experience in FPGA-based system design.
  • Proficiency in RTL Design and hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog).
  • Solid understanding of Digital Signal Processing and Signal Processing concepts applied to FPGA implementations.
  • Hands-on debugging skills using simulation tools, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and hardware verification environments.
  • Experience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx, Intel/Altera) and familiarity with synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, C/C++ or Python for test and automation, and exposure to ASIC or mixed-signal design is an advantage.

Compensation & Pay Scale

The estimated pay range for this position in California, United States is $120,000 – $170,000 / year (or $60 – $85 / hour for C2C). Exact compensation depends on candidate experience, skill level, and contract terms. (Adjust range values to match your specific budget before saving).
