About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Technical Lead Manager (TLM) to oversee the Trajectory Generation team within the Embodied AI organization at General Motors. This leadership role combines advanced technical expertise in machine learning and robotics with strategic people management and organizational impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the technical vision for trajectory generation systems used in autonomous vehicles. This critical component of autonomous driving involves producing precise vehicle motion plans for lane changes, merges, turns, obstacle avoidance, and complex interactions with other road users, ensuring safe and human-like driving behavior across diverse environments.
As the team lead, you will guide a high-performing group of engineers in developing ML-driven trajectory generation models, translating research into scalable production systems, and integrating these models into real-time onboard vehicle architectures. You will influence the design of next-generation embodied AI architectures, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate across multiple teams—including perception, data, simulation, and safety validation—to align technical strategies with product milestones and safety standards. This role demands a visionary leader capable of setting technical direction, driving large-scale initiatives, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
