Job Title: Model-Based Development Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Model-Based Development (MBD) Engineer to join our team, specializing in Battery Management Systems (BMS) for the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing control models, simulation environments, plant models, and advanced BMS to ensure the optimal performance and safety of battery packs. This role requires proficiency in C/C++/C#, MATLAB/Simulink, and control development, along with a working knowledge of Japanese at N4 level or higher.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Control Model Development: Design and develop control models for key automotive systems such as transmission control, brake control, motor control, and battery management.
  • Simulation Environment Development: Develop and maintain simulation environments using tools like MATLAB/Simulink, CarSim, Unreal Engine, and Unity to simulate and validate control systems.
  • Plant Model Creation: Create detailed plant models for engines, transmissions, brakes, sensors, and battery systems to support comprehensive system simulations.
  • Battery Management System (BMS) Design: Design and implement BMS to monitor and control battery packs, ensuring optimal performance, longevity, and safety.
  • BMS Construction: Oversee the construction and integration of BMS into automotive systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including battery design, testing, and validation teams, to ensure cohesive and effective development processes.
  • Testing and Validation: Participate in the testing and validation of BMS and control models to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.


Required Skills:

  • C/C++/C# Proficiency: Minimum of 3 years of experience in C language programming; experience in C++/C# is also acceptable.
  • MATLAB/Simulink Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of experience using MATLAB/Simulink for model-based development.
  • Control Development Experience: Proven experience in control development, particularly in automotive applications.
  • Language Skills: Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N4 or higher; proficiency in English is also advantageous.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with battery management systems and electric vehicle (EV) technologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Experience in developing control systems for hybrid or electric vehicles.
