Job Description

eComm Performance Web Designer

Location: Remote — European time zones preferred

Role Type: Full Time · Independent Contractor

Team: Design

Own the storefront. Design for conversion. Keep raising the standard.

Job Snapshot

We’re on track to become a €30M brand, and we’re looking for an eComm Performance Web Designer to own the visual and UX experience across our DTC storefronts.

You’ll design PDPs, landing pages, conversion-focused test variations, and broader site experiences with one goal: making the site look premium while improving how it performs.

This isn’t a role for someone who simply makes pages look good. You need to understand how design influences conversion and sales.

You’ll work in a tight performance pod alongside a CRO Specialist and Developer, moving quickly from hypothesis → design → build → live test.

You’ll also own the broader design standard of the storefront, continuously identifying opportunities to improve the site.

About the Company

We’re a fast-growing Italian skincare brand for men, formulated in an Italian lab and sold DTC across Italy and the US.

We combine Italian product heritage with the speed and ambition of a high-growth DTC business.

Our growth:

  • 700% year-over-year growth
  • 200,000+ satisfied customers
  • Best seller on Amazon Italy in our category
  • 4.5 average Trustpilot rating across 1,000+ reviews
  • 30%+ repeat purchase rate
  • On track for €30M this year
  • Bootstrapped and profitable

Two founders run the company, allowing strong ideas to move quickly from conversation to execution.

The Role

You’ll own the customer experience from the moment someone lands on our site to the moment they buy.

That includes:

  • Designing landing pages around current ad angles and audiences
  • Turning CRO hypotheses into testable experiences
  • Improving PDPs and conversion journeys
  • Elevating the visual standard of the storefront
  • Creating page-specific visual assets when needed
  • Delivering clean, developer-ready Figma files

Our Art Director sets brand guidelines. Our CRO Specialist defines what we need to test. Our Developer builds what you design.

You own making the experience beautiful, commercially effective, consistent, and ready to build.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be accountable for:

  • Turning CRO hypotheses into high-performing page designs from hypothesis → Figma → development → live test
  • Designing landing pages that connect directly with active ads, audiences, and messaging
  • Continuously improving PDPs, UX, hierarchy, trust, product education, and conversion journeys
  • Leading the visual refresh of the storefront into a premium, modern, cohesive experience
  • Producing page-specific visual assets while following the existing brand system
  • Creating clean Figma files and developer-ready handoffs
  • Proactively identifying weak, outdated, or inconsistent experiences and improving them

This is ownership of the performance and quality of the storefront, not simply completing design tickets.

What Success Looks Like

You’re succeeding when:

  • Landing pages can be designed and shipped quickly enough to support paid acquisition
  • CRO hypotheses become polished, test-ready designs without design becoming the bottleneck
  • PDPs clearly connect customer intent with the right product story, proof, and buying journey
  • The storefront becomes more premium, cohesive, modern, and conversion-focused
  • New pages and experiments remain on-brand while moving quickly
  • Developer handoffs require minimal back-and-forth
  • You proactively improve the site rather than waiting for requests

The standard is simple: the site should never stop getting better.

Required Experience

You should have:

  • Proven experience designing eCommerce landing pages, PDPs, and conversion-focused websites
  • A portfolio showing strong visual design and conversion thinking
  • Experience owning or significantly shaping a website end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of customer psychology, hierarchy, messaging flow, mobile UX, trust, product education, and purchase journeys
  • A strong premium visual eye and ability to maintain brand consistency
  • Experience working with CRO, growth, or performance teams
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Strong ownership, organisation, and communication
  • Excellent Figma skills and experience creating developer-ready designs

Experience in beauty, skincare, supplements, or another fast-moving DTC category is strongly preferred.

Italian is useful but not required. Localisation is handled separately.

Tools & Environment

Primary design tool: Figma

You’ll collaborate closely with:

  • CRO Specialist
  • Developer
  • Art Director
  • Graphic Designer
  • Growth & Acquisition Team

We’re remote, fast-paced, highly accountable, and low-bureaucracy.

We expect you to own your area, communicate clearly, and keep projects moving without constant supervision.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $2,500–$5,000/month, based on experience
  • Fully remote
  • Flexible working hours
  • European time zones preferred
  • Independent contractor arrangement
  • Direct exposure to a rapidly scaling international DTC brand
  • Small team with fast decision-making
  • Meaningful ownership and autonomy
  • Strong work gets shipped without unnecessary approval cycles

Hiring Process

  1. Portfolio Review — We’ll assess your eCommerce work and how you think about design and conversion.
  2. Interview with HOD or Co-Founder — Focused on your experience, ownership, and approach to performance design.
  3. Paid Trial Task — A practical opportunity to demonstrate your approach.
  4. Final Interview with Co-Founder
  5. Offer

Who Thrives Here

You’ll thrive if you care equally about how something looks and how it performs.

You move quickly while still noticing the details. You can work within a brand system without needing every decision made for you.

You understand that great eCommerce design is collaborative, but you still take full ownership of your work.

You naturally notice when a page feels dated, inconsistent, unclear, or underdeveloped, and your instinct is to improve it.

Most importantly, you understand that beautiful and high-converting are not competing goals.

Who Will Struggle

This probably isn’t the right role if you:

  • Primarily come from brand, editorial, or general graphic design with limited eCommerce experience
  • Can make beautiful websites but can’t explain why a design should improve conversion
  • Need lengthy briefs or constant direction before starting
  • Prefer long design cycles and multiple approval rounds
  • See CRO variations as minor production work
  • Wait for someone else to identify what needs improving
  • Struggle to maintain quality when priorities move quickly

Apply

If you’ve designed eCommerce experiences that look premium, move fast, and sell, we want to see them.

Application Form:

https://forms.gle/z4DiAQU82CeQuX4P9

Show us more than polished visuals. Show us that you understand why the design works.

We’re not hiring someone to decorate the storefront.

We’re hiring someone to make it perform.

Due to the volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
