You'll be building game systems and UI for web and mobile in a live-service environment. We're looking for someone with solid C# and Unity expertise, cross-platform development experience, and the ability to iterate quickly while working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain features for a live game, including events, stores, inventory, mail, chat, and other player-facing systems
  • Develop polished, responsive UI for new features in close collaboration with design and art
  • Adapt and optimize features across WebGL, iOS, and Android, accounting for the constraints of each platform
  • Own features from conception through shipping with minimal oversight. We keep the process light and expect self-direction
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and fellow engineers in a small-studio environment where everyone wears a few hats

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing games in Unity
  • A track record of shipping game features from concept through production
  • Strong C# programming skills
  • A track record of writing maintainable, scalable and well-structured C# code
  • Experience creating complex UI with Unity UI (UGUI)
  • Strong understanding of mobile UX and platform constraints
  • Experience developing and shipping games for iOS, Android, and/or WebGL
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative studio where priorities can shift quickly

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with multiplayer or networked gameplay (e.g. Fishnet, Photon, Mirror, Netcode for GameObjects)
  • Experience integrating server-side API calls into a client codebase (Firebase / PlayFab / UGS)
  • Experience developing games for children, with an awareness of age-appropriate design and safety

Our team includes members of the original Club Penguin studio and industry veterans with decades of experience building online worlds. We're focused on delivering great social experiences for kids, with safety at our core.

What we offer:

● Fully remote within Canada

● Extended health and dental benefits

● Paid vacation and holidays

● Salary $75,000 - $90,000 CAD

Why you might like it here:
