Intermediate Unity Engineer
The Role
We're looking for an Intermediate Unity Engineer to join our small team. This is a full-time, fully remote position within Canada. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
You'll be building game systems and UI for web and mobile in a live-service environment. We're looking for someone with solid C# and Unity expertise, cross-platform development experience, and the ability to iterate quickly while working independently.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain features for a live game, including events, stores, inventory, mail, chat, and other player-facing systems
- Develop polished, responsive UI for new features in close collaboration with design and art
- Adapt and optimize features across WebGL, iOS, and Android, accounting for the constraints of each platform
- Own features from conception through shipping with minimal oversight. We keep the process light and expect self-direction
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and fellow engineers in a small-studio environment where everyone wears a few hats

Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience developing games in Unity
- A track record of shipping game features from concept through production
- Strong C# programming skills
- A track record of writing maintainable, scalable and well-structured C# code
- Experience creating complex UI with Unity UI (UGUI)
- Strong understanding of mobile UX and platform constraints
- Experience developing and shipping games for iOS, Android, and/or WebGL
- Comfortable working in a small, collaborative studio where priorities can shift quickly
Nice to Have:
- Experience with multiplayer or networked gameplay (e.g. Fishnet, Photon, Mirror, Netcode for GameObjects)
- Experience integrating server-side API calls into a client codebase (Firebase / PlayFab / UGS)
- Experience developing games for children, with an awareness of age-appropriate design and safety
