Team Overview
The Sr. Project Manager will report to the Director of Service Delivery & IT Resiliency, accountable for oversight and execution of the Cyber Resiliency program, which focuses on increases EDC’s posture and readiness to recover from an active Cyberattack. The Service Delivery & IT Resiliency Team oversees Service Lifecycle, Performance Management, Configuration & Asset mgmt., Event Management and Monitoring, along with Data Centers and Disaster recovery capabilities. The team works collaboratively with other groups to ensure initiatives in execution are aligned with corporate strategy, resources are efficiently allocated, risks are mitigated, outcomes are achieved, and benefits are realized.
The team is seeking an experienced and strategic Program Lead to drive the Cyber Resiliency program within our organization. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing complex projects, including experience within IT infrastructure and/or cybersecurity focused projects.
The Incumbent Will
- Lead a medium to large project team; defines the project vision and communicates the outcomes needed along with guidance to achieve outcome, coordinates team actions on project activities; coordinates flow of additional team members on and off the team as needed.
- Work closely with the Initiative Owner, to ensure overall health and admin (risk management and mitigation, validate monthly external invoices, process timesheets, connect with workstream leads, steerco prep)
- Manage the deployment of project resources, proactively managing project costs, providing forecasts, and presenting variances with narrative at appropriate review points to ensure effective utilization.
- Manage the production of project and workstream plans, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized, and resourced to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project and program management framework.
- Manage identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, escalating these where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these.
- Manages, consolidates, aligns, and cascades information to the key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiative(s) across multiple teams and vendors, to execute resiliency related initiatives, including modernizing resiliency tooling, uplifting infrastructure resiliency, maturing resiliency testing, and more.
- Plan for Quarterly targets (Program Big Room Planning), and Update Planview quarterly targets to align with actual work state.
- Connect weekly/bi-weekly with workstream leads for updates to common milestones.
- Plan and lead the delivery of a range of information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on project deliverables.
- Consolidate work progress across different work streams and bring in the Program view, experience working with ADO, Agile Place and Roadmaps is key.
- Understands the project and workstream plans, ensuring that all the common target activities are identified, are appropriately organized, and resourced to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project and program management framework.
- Manage the project review process; provide stakeholders with accurate and relevant information and key recommendations at agreed review points to enable them to evaluate progress and agree on change.
- Develop and deliver high quality Executive presentations.
- Review existing operations in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered.
- Provide appropriate documentation and training to enable successful transition to business as usual. Identify and record lessons learned to inform future project activity.
Screening Criteria
- Has prior project experience in planning, orchestrating, and delivering an IT Resiliency/Business Continuity Management Project
- Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or in a related field
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and practices, including creating and monitoring schedules, budgets, meeting agendas, status reporting and risk/issue management
- Understanding of the Agile Framework
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work for multiple stakeholders
- Minimum 8 years of experience coordinating projects in a project management office or related project/program environment with competing priorities and diverse deliverables
- Working knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills and experience communicating and consulting with project executives, sponsors and stakeholders
- Proficient in: ADO, AgilePlace, Roadmaps, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams and other related applications
Assets
- Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
- Experience using Planview, Lean Kit and Azure ADO or related project scheduling tools
Salary Range
- Project Manager 18: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,355 To $123,140.
Location
- Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
- This role may be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Toronto or Montreal.
