Job Description
Senior Test Engineer
Company: ITQUAN
Location: Hybrid
Contract: Permanent contract (CDI) under Belgian employment law
Assignment: Client project (consulting)
About ITQUAN
ITQUAN is an IT consultancy that partners with clients in banking and insurance, telecom and the public sector to deliver high-quality software. Our consultants work embedded in client teams, bringing technical expertise, structure and a strong quality mindset to every project.
We are currently looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join one of our client engagements.
The role
We are hiring for a permanent Belgian contract (CDI), with the assignment carried out at one of our clients.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will own the quality of the applications you work on, from designing the test strategy to executing end-to-end scenarios and building the automation that keeps regressions out of production. You will be the quality reference point within an Agile team, working closely with developers, business analysts and the Product Owner.
Responsibilities
- Design, write and execute end-to-end test scenarios covering complete business flows across integrated systems.
- Build and maintain the regression test suite, and run regression cycles for each release.
- Develop and maintain automated tests using one of the leading automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Robot Framework or equivalent).
- Perform functional, integration and contract API testing using Postman (collections, environments, automated runs via Newman) or similar tooling.
- Analyse requirements and user stories, identify test conditions, and challenge specifications early to prevent defects rather than detect them late.
- Log, prioritise, track and retest defects, and report clearly on test progress, coverage and risk to stakeholders.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and monitor test execution results.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, refinements, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices, tooling and documentation.

- Strong API testing experience, with practical command of Postman.
- Good scripting/programming ability in at least one language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Python).
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and of the tester's role within an Agile team.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail or similar).
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar).
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.
