Our client is a leading global manufacturer, importer, and distributor of home décor and home goods — spanning softlines, hardlines, bedding, furniture, and lighting — trusted by the world's largest retail chains. They're looking for a Product Designer with hands-on experience across both hard goods and soft goods to support their kitchenware category. This role covers the full design and development process, from concept through production-ready specs.

Position Summary

We are hiring a Product Designer (Kitchen Textiles) to lead the creative vision for our growing kitchen textiles business. This individual will be responsible for designing trend-right, commercially successful collections across towels, aprons, oven mitts, potholders, table linens, and related kitchen accessories. 

The ideal candidate is a highly creative designer with strong textile experience who understands retail trends, color, print, pattern, and product development. This role partners closely with Product Development, Sales, Merchandising, and overseas factories to bring innovative concepts from inspiration to production.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal kitchen textile collections. 

• Create original artwork, prints, patterns, color palettes, and product concepts. 

• Build cohesive collections aligned with customer needs and brand direction. 

• Identify emerging trends through market research, shopping, and forecasting services. 

• Present design concepts during line reviews and customer presentations. 

• Develop products from concept through production in partnership with Product Development. 

• Create CADs, technical artwork, and presentation boards. 

• Select fabrics, trims, embellishments, construction details, and finishes. 

• Review prototypes and samples, providing detailed design feedback. 

• Ensure products maintain design integrity throughout development. 

• Partner with Product Development, Sales, Merchandising, and Sourcing to execute seasonal assortments. 

• Collaborate with overseas factories on artwork, color approvals, and sample revisions. 

• Support customer meetings by preparing presentations and product stories. 

• Work closely with licensing teams when developing licensed collections. 

• Conduct competitive shopping and analyze retail trends. 

• Research consumer preferences, color direction, and emerging materials. 

• Translate trends into commercially successful products for major retailers.

Requirements (Must-Have)

• 5+ years of experience designing kitchen textiles, home textiles, tabletops, or related consumer products. 

• Strong portfolio demonstrating print, pattern, color, and product design. 

• Expert knowledge of textile construction, fabrics, printing techniques, and embellishments. 

• Experience developing products for major retail accounts. 

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and overseas production. 

• Excellent presentation and communication skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple seasonal calendars simultaneously. 

• PLM experience is a plus.
