Job Description

About Us

We're on a mission to save the microbiome. Because when we feed our inner ecosystem, our whole health thrives.

LOAM is a fast-growing health company bringing efficacious, science-backed solutions to the microbiome. Led by founder and CEO Dr. Karan Rajan, one of the most trusted voices in gut health globally, LOAM launched in October 2025 with a singular commitment: to become the most scientifically rigorous, trusted brand in the category. That means real clinical trials, real formulation standards, and zero tolerance for the hype that defines most of this industry.

We're still early, that means this isn't a role where you inherit someone else's system and optimize the margins. You're building the lifecycle engine with a founder who will personally care about getting it right.

About the Role

We're hiring a Director of Lifecycle Marketing to own the customer journey end to end; from first purchase to lifelong advocate. This is a build role, not a maintenance role. You'll design the strategy, build the infrastructure, and run the experimentation program that turns LOAM into a subscription business with retention numbers that outperform the category.

We want someone who has done this before at a real scale, at a real subscription-first CPG or VMS brand and can point to the specific cohort curve, LTV lift, or churn reduction they personally drove.

If you're someone equally comfortable pulling a SQL query at 9am and reviewing creative for a winback flow at 2pm as well as someone who treats retention as a science, not a set of best-practice templates.

You'll report to our VP of Marketing, work directly alongside Dr. Karan on brand and product strategy, and partner closely with Growth, Creative, and Finance. As we scale, this role has a clear path for growth as the lifecycle function grows beneath you.

Key Responsibilities

Lifecycle Strategy: Own the end-to-end lifecycle strategy across email, SMS, subscriptions, loyalty, referrals, and winback. Set the roadmap, prioritize by expected LTV impact, and build the infrastructure (not just the campaigns) that lets this function scale.

Customer Journey: Map and continuously optimize the journey from first purchase through renewal, expansion, and reactivation. Find the friction points through data, not assumption and fix them.

Segmentation & Personalization: Build a genuinely sophisticated segmentation model based on behavior, lifecycle stage, product affinity, and predicted value. "Right message, right time" should be a data pipeline, not a slogan.

Retention Economics: Partner with Growth and Finance to own subscription health: cohort retention curves, LTV:CAC modeling, churn diagnosis (voluntary vs. involuntary, first-cycle vs. steady-state), and forecasting that actually informs the business's decisions.

Loyalty & Advocacy: Design and launch loyalty, referral, and advocacy programs that deepen relationships and drive efficient word-of-mouth acquisition.

Experimentation: Build and run a rigorous, always-on testing roadmap across messaging, offers, timing, creative, and flows. You should be the person in the company most fluent in what's actually statistically significant versus noise.

What You'll Need to Bring

  • 6+ years in lifecycle, retention, or CRM marketing, with at least 3+ years in a lifecycle leadership role at a subscription-first CPG, DTC, or VMS/supplements brand. Generalist DTC experience alone (e.g., apparel, beauty box) is not a substitute...supplement/VMS replenishment dynamics are a specific discipline, and we need someone who already knows the category's failure modes.
  • A specific, quantified track record. In your application, tell us the exact LTV, churn, or subscription-economics number you personally moved, and how.
  • Deep hands-on fluency in Klaviyo and a subscription management platform (Recharge or Loop etc)
  • Genuine quantitative rigor: you should be fluent in cohort analysis, retention curves, predictive LTV modeling, and structured A/B/multivariate testing.
  • A real eye for brand. LOAM's retention programs need to feel as scientifically credible and premium as our product...not like generic DTC discount spam. You should be able to sit in a creative review and have an opinion that isn't just "test it."
  • Proven cross-functional operating experience: partnering with Growth, Digital, Creative, and Finance, and managing agency or contractor relationships to a high bar without needing to be managed yourself.

Compensation & What We Offer

  • Competitive salary plus equity
  • Fully remote, flexible schedule
  • A genuine ownership opportunity: build the lifecycle function at a company in its first year, with a founder who will be in the room
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture, working alongside a physician-founder personally invested in the science
  • Product freebies of course!
  • 401(k)
  • Health insurance
