Job Description
Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Network Engineer / Systems Administrator. In this role, the professional will design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable network infrastructures to support the company’s operational and design processes. Typical tasks include configuring routers, switches, and firewalls; monitoring network performance; and resolving connectivity issues. The role also involves maintaining systems, performing updates and backups, ensuring data security, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to support digital tools such as BIM and other project management platforms. The Network Engineer / Systems Administrator will document network configurations and procedures, recommend improvements, and help align IT infrastructure with the company’s focus on innovation and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network devices and services.
- Proficiency in Network Engineering and Network Design to plan and implement scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures.
- Hands-on experience in Troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve network and system issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of Network Security practices, such as firewall management, VPNs, access control, and basic intrusion prevention.
- Experience with systems administration tasks, including operating system management (Windows/Linux), backups, and user access management.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services, remote access solutions, and tools that support distributed teams.
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical colleagues and to document infrastructure and procedures in an understandable way.
- Relevant technical education or certifications in networking or systems administration (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent) are beneficial.
- Comfort working part-time in a remote setup, with strong self-management and organizational skills.
