The Role
As a District Manager, you'll lead a dynamic team of General Managers across multiple locations in the Greater Metro Vancouver area, guiding them to exceed sales targets, uphold company standards, and create exceptional member experiences. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Fitness World continues to grow sustainably by supporting both our Membership Sales and Personal Training teams, driving membership net growth, and ensuring that new members are set up for long-term success.
You will bring a proven track record in consultative sales, leadership, and team development, along with a passion for fitness and a focus on operational excellence. This position requires regular travel within the district, as well as collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve overall company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Inspire Sales Teams: Coach and develop a team of General Managers to consistently hit sales targets while fostering a positive, motivating environment. Focus on onboarding new members and ensuring they receive exceptional induction support.
- Sales & Service Strategy: Drive membership sales by identifying trends, setting strategic goals, and implementing best practices. Oversee the full sales cycle, ensuring a high standard of service and alignment with company values.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure consistent delivery of Fitness World’s high standards across all locations. Oversee key departments such as childminding, member services, and cleaning protocols to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Performance Management: Hold your team accountable for meeting operational and sales KPIs, including membership acquisition, retention, and revenue goals. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and training where necessary.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize key performance metrics to monitor sales activity, track progress, and identify opportunities for improvement. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual sales budgets and help implement corrective action when needed.
- Member Experience: Ensure all new members are provided with a smooth, supportive induction process and are set up to meet their fitness goals from day one. Address customer service issues promptly and professionally, identifying trends for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the Fitness, Sales, Member Experience, and Repairs & Maintenance departments to ensure alignment and to drive company-wide success.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and operational standards. Manage labor costs and scheduling efficiently across all departments.
- Leadership Development: Be a hands-on leader in the clubs, providing on-the-ground coaching to General Managers and fostering an environment of growth and professional development.
- Reporting & Administration: Ensure timely and accurate completion of reconciliations, commission logs, deposits, and other administrative tasks. Prepare and present performance reports to senior leadership.

- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a district or multi-location management role, ideally in the fitness, retail, or service industry. You’ve led teams to success in competitive environments and know how to inspire results.
- Sales Expertise: A strong background in consultative sales, with a focus on membership growth, retention, and achieving financial targets.
- Fitness Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for health, wellness, and fitness. You understand the importance of supporting members in achieving their fitness goals and creating a positive, inclusive environment.
- Team Development: Experience in hiring, training, and developing employees to reach their full potential. You are an effective coach who knows how to motivate and hold teams accountable.
- Operational Savvy: Strong knowledge of operational management, including budgeting, labor management, and customer service excellence.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Clear, concise, and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal. You know how to inspire teams, resolve conflicts, and collaborate across departments.

- A university degree or college diploma in business administration or a related field; a specialization in sales or marketing is preferred.
- Several years of experience as a sales professional or in a related occupation.
- Previous experience coaching and managing employees at a district level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Strong leadership skills, previous experience coaching and motivating a team of sales employees.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
- Intermediate computer use and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word).
