Junior Cloud Engineer
We're currently working with an innovative software company that is looking for a Junior Cloud Engineer to join its growing Cloud & Platform team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in cloud engineering, working alongside experienced engineers who will support your development.
You'll gain hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies, helping to build, maintain and improve cloud infrastructure while learning best practices in automation, monitoring and DevOps.
You'll collaborate with Software Engineers, QA Engineers and senior Cloud Engineers as part of an agile team, contributing to real projects from day one. This is a fully remote role within the UK, although there is an office in Southwark available if you'd like to work from there.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the management and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Learning Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Assisting with cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Writing and maintaining simple Python scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Working alongside developers to troubleshoot cloud and application issues.
- Monitoring platform performance and helping improve reliability.
- Learning cloud security and operational best practices.
- Contributing to team projects while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.

What we're looking for
- Some hands-on experience with AWS through work, university, personal projects or certifications.
- Exposure to Python or another scripting language.
- An understanding of Terraform.
- A genuine interest in Cloud, DevOps and Infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Nice to have
- Exposure working with Linux.
- Familiarity with Git or GitLab.
- Understanding of Docker or containerisation.
- Knowledge of Kafka or event-driven systems.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certification (or working towards one).
