Job Description
We are looking for a Workflow Automation Assistant to support our team as we work with a major logistics firm. This role is focused on the technical side of making management easier, specifically by setting up the tools that help teams track their work without manual effort. You will work as part of a fully remote team to build and maintain the systems that keep our advisory projects organized and moving forward.
About the Role
Olive Tree works with leadership teams to remove the friction that slows down their daily operations. For our current engagement with a large logistics client, we are helping them transition from messy, manual tracking to clear, automated rhythms. This role exists to handle the setup and maintenance of these digital workflows. You will spend your time making sure that when a decision is made or a task is finished, the right software updates itself, the right people are notified, and the project record remains accurate. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be someone who enjoys figuring out how different apps can talk to each other to save time and reduce errors.
What You Will Do
- Set up simple automations between tools like Slack, Notion, and Airtable to keep project data synchronized.
- Monitor existing workflows to ensure they are running correctly and fix any minor errors that occur.
- Draft clear, step by step guides so that clients and consultants understand how to use the automated systems we build.
- Assist in migrating data from manual spreadsheets into structured project management databases.
- Create automated notifications for project milestones to ensure deadlines are never missed by the broader team.
- Test new workflow ideas to see if they actually make the work simpler or if they add unnecessary complexity.
- Maintain the internal logic of our project logs so that the history of a decision is always easy to find.
- Participate in remote team syncs to report on the health of our internal systems and suggest small improvements.

- Comfort working in a fully remote setting, which requires being reliable and responsive during working hours.
- A preference for simple solutions over complex ones.

- Familiarity with no code tools such as Zapier, Make, or Airtable.
- Basic knowledge of how spreadsheet formulas work (if/then statements, lookups).
- Interest in how large companies, like those in the logistics sector, manage their operations.
- Experience managing your own projects or schedules using digital task managers.
- Previous exposure to a remote work environment or a strong ability to manage your own time effectively.
This is a permanent, full time position that is 100 percent remote. We believe in a quiet management pattern, meaning we value deep work and clear documentation over constant meetings and interruptions. You will have the chance to see how high level management decisions are made and how structural habits affect large organizations. We provide a supportive environment where you can learn the fundamentals of business operations and automation. The position is paid, and the compensation is competitive for an entry level role in this market.
About Olive Tree
Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems: they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company growth. We favor practical changes over large scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own. The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
