Junior Software Engineer

Steradium is a technology company focused on turning advanced artificial intelligence into practical solutions for businesses. We're currently building an AI-native engineering team from the ground up.

What you'll do

• As a Junior Software Engineer at Steradium, you will contribute to designing, implementing, and maintaining software components that support AI-driven products and services.
• You will write clean, well-documented code, assist in building and testing back-end APIs and services, and help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with more experienced engineers.
• Daily tasks include participating in code reviews, refining requirements with product and engineering teams, and updating documentation to reflect new features or changes.
• This is a full-time remote role, offering flexibility while requiring reliable communication, proactive progress updates, and effective collaboration across distributed teams.

What we're looking for

• Foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.

• Skill in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript).
• Understanding of Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, server-side frameworks, and basic database integration.
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), including designing and working with classes, interfaces, and reusable components.
• Ability to read and debug code, write unit and integration tests, and use version control tools such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and willingness to ask questions and learn from feedback.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in AI, machine learning, or data-driven systems; prior exposure to these areas is a plus.

How we work with AI

• Every engineer here has Claude Code in their daily loop. We measure output in shipped, reviewed, production-grade work, not in hand-typed lines.
• Everyone can use AI assistants for scaffolding, refactors, test generation, and exploring unfamiliar codebases, but you own every line that ships with your name on it.
• We expect everyone to know and understand where AI is unreliable: subtle concurrency, security boundaries, domain logic, anything where being confidently wrong is expensive.
