Position: Regional Sales and Marketing Manager
About the Job:
You will be working for Northern Canada's leading hotel company. As Regional Sales and Marketing Manager you will be a member of a dynamic management team providing sales and marketing leadership for two premier hotels located in Yellowknife, NWT and Iqaluit, Nunavut and the pre-opening of a new exciting hotel called Hotel Iqaluit. You will be based at head office in Edmonton, Alberta reporting to the Vice-President of Hotels. The role will lead all sales and marketing initiatives and business development for the hotel division. A strong focus on increasing occupancy and revenue by expanding the market presence of the hotels across Corporate, Government, Tourism, Indigenous, Transportation, Mining, and the growing Adventure Tourism markets. You will be responsible for generating new business and driving commercial performance and long-term growth of the hotels.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute annual sales and business strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and industry partners.
- Conduct sales calls, presentations, networking events, site visits and trade show participation.
- Negotiate corporate agreements, room blocks, group contracts, and event arrangements.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and drive new revenue opportunities.
- Proven success driving occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall hotel revenue growth.
- Experience developing responding to, and securing business through corporate, government, and RFPs.
- Collaborate and work closely with hotel General Managers and other hotel team members.
- Support conference, meeting, and event revenue development.
- Oversee and monitor market trends and competitor activity.
- Identify new markets and business opportunities aligning with organizational goals.
- Maintain a visible and engaged presence in the marketplace.
- Improve and upgrade sales SOPs, policies, procedures and protocols.
- Lead and coach the sales team.
- Develop and create events, promotions and special programs.
- Contribute to the success of the hotels annual strategic plan by delivering on sales goals and targets.

Qualifications and Experience:

- You will have proven sales and marketing and business development experience in the hotel and resort industry.
- Hospitality Industry experience is required.
- Multi-property and pre-opening hotel sales experience a strong asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and presentation skills.
- Team player and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Opera PMS, Oracle, Delphi, CRM platforms, or similar systems would be an asset.
- Strong networking, negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Degree or Diploma in Tourism Management, Marketing or related field.
- Experience managing corporate accounts, group business, conferences and events.
- Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Able to travel regularly to Yellowknife and Nunavut, industry conferences and trade shows.
- Must be legally eligible and authorized to work in Canada.
