Job Description

About The Role

This is a maximum-ownership founding engineering role at a pre-seed AI-native fintech startup building autonomous agent workflows for private market operations. The platform connects to inboxes, web portals, and financial data sources to extract data, reconcile bank accounts, and generate journal entries for existing ERPs — turning what used to take fund accounting teams days of manual work into a matter of minutes, with full traceability and real-time collaboration.

You will work side-by-side with the founding team and early design partners, shaping the product roadmap, contributing to hiring, and taking on meaningful ownership from day one. Top performers will have the opportunity to grow quickly into a leadership role.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain core platform components, including backend APIs, services, and AI-native agent infrastructure
  • Design and develop agentic/autonomous workflows for financial operations — covering fund accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and treasury processes
  • Integrate and operate large language models (LLMs) in production, including intelligent routing across models for speed, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Connect the platform to ERPs, banking systems, email, file storage, and other data sources
  • Collaborate directly with customers to understand requirements and translate them into product capabilities
  • Actively contribute to the product roadmap and architectural decisions
  • Help attract and evaluate exceptional engineering talent as the team grows

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience building or operating AI-native infrastructure — e.g. systems involving LLMs, agentic/autonomous systems, or intelligent workflow orchestration
  • Strong backend development skills: production-grade APIs and services
  • Domain knowledge in private markets fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury workflows
  • Comfort operating in a high-ownership, fast-paced founding environment with ambiguity and proactive communication
  • Eligibility to work in Germany (visa sponsorship is available)
  • Based in Berlin or willing to relocate

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience at fintech, fund administration, or financial operations tooling companies
  • Experience with enterprise integrations (ERP connectors, banking APIs, email/portal data capture)
  • Background from high-calibre engineering organisations in cloud infrastructure or enterprise software

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates
  • Opportunity for equity and rapid career growth into a leadership position
  • Direct impact on product, culture, and company direction as a founding team member

Location

This is an on-site role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be based in Berlin or willing to relocate. Visa sponsorship is available.
