Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Pay: $19.00-$21.00/hour (based upon experience)

Duration: 6-month contract with potential FTE Conversion for the RIGHT candidate

Schedule: Monday – Friday // 40hrs/week

Location: ONSITE - DALLAS, TX

As the Medical Claims Processor, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of key tasks supporting the successful implementation of new Small Business Clients with and/or on behalf of a team of Implementation Specialists.

GENERAL FUNCTION

As part of the HR Operations Team, the Payroll Specialist will manage the processing of payroll which will include auditing, issue resolution and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely payrolls. The Payroll Specialist will act as front-line support for incoming inquiries related to associates’ pay and provides exceptional customer service and problem resolution while maintaining a strict confidentiality of information at all times.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for processing, balancing, and transmitting payrolls to and from ADP payroll to ensure completeness of the payroll process for weekly, bi-weekly and monthly disbursement of multi-state and multi-country (US & Canada) payroll for 40,000 employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Processing that includes, but not limited to, new hires, STD, wage assignments, relocation, compensation, additional pays, bonus and commissions, direct deposit and pay cards, and terminations final pay
  • Ensure automated timekeeping hours file is processed and balanced
  • Calculates and creates out of sequence pay entries for corrections
  • Ensure processing of tax and GL processes for accurate reporting to ADP and Accounting and troubleshoots errors for resolution
  • Frequently interacts with various departments
  • Assist with various payroll, tax, and benefit reconciliations and audits
  • Creates, tracks and works to resolve service requests with 3rd party payroll provider
  • Support direct training needs for incoming payroll staff
  • Identifies critical pay incoming tickets to determine need for On Demand pay cards/checks and processes emergency pays.
  • Addresses incoming inquiries from tickets system, internal employees, stakeholders, or regulatory agencies and escalates internally
  • Stays informed of all payroll and HR policies and procedures
  • Adheres to applicable state, local and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Follow prescribed procedures and workflow
  • Run employee pay detail reports as needed for HR, Legal, Compliance requests
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, coworkers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years Payroll experience required
  • Proficiency in ADP Global View required
  • Previous experience with reporting, data analysis or payroll reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of payroll effects to payroll tax and accounting
  • Ability to create and modify reports using GlobalView reports
  • Multi-state payroll processing experience in a fast paced/large volume environment
  • Wage Garnishment experience preferred
  • Canadian payroll experience preferred

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • American Payroll Certification (APA) preferred
