Back-end (Scala) Engineer in NETHERLANDS

We are seeking a talented Scala Engineer to join our collaborative backend guild that currently has 11 professionals. The Zivver platform is trusted by over 8000 organizations across various industries, and we need your skills to deliver quality, user-friendly solutions to meet the needs of our users.

Imagine yourself as an Engineer at the core of our product, fueling innovation and growth. You'll delve into refining business rules and machine learning models, pushing the boundaries of content data interpretation with your creativity and problem-solving skills.

As a driving force behind the scenes, you'll craft features that empower administrators to monitor Zivver’s impact and drive actionable insights, collaborating closely with data engineering gurus and backend engineers to shape the platform's evolution. Your contributions matter here, so let's build something incredible together.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with the team in the design and implementation of projects.
• Develop new features and maintain the performance of the Zivver backend platform.
• Collaborate in code reviews, offering insightful feedback and championing a culture of continual enhancement and excellence.
• Implement top-tier security practices, proactively identifying potential vulnerabilities, and fostering a security-centric mindset across the project.
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver high-quality solutions and participate in the technical design of product features.
• Enhance development tools and processes to streamline the development process and improve the development experience.
• Review bugs, errors, and alerts, working with other engineers to fix them in a timely manner;
• Contribute to the stability, scalability, and usability of the Zivver platform.
• Participate in the Zivver backend guild, sharing your experience and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Expertise you’ll bring:

• 3+ years of experience in software development, with experience using Scala.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including testing, code review, and continuous integration.
• Experience with SQL (Postgres) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Scala Typelevel programming (e.g., cats/cats effect libs) is desirable.
• Practical experience with data science is highly desirable.
