Project Description
Our client is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join on an initial 2-month contract, with the potential to extend into an ongoing full-time engagement.
The role is fully remote (Preferred locations: Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines & Indonesia) and will focus on establishing automated testing capabilities, with an immediate priority of implementing automated testing for user signup and role/permission validation.
The QA Engineer will play a key role in strengthening test quality by owning real test environments, validating permission boundaries and edge cases, and ensuring automated tests are integrated into the development process.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design and implement an automated testing framework (e.g. Playwright or Cypress) integrated into the CI pipeline
- Automate end-to-end user signup flows, including email verification and role/permission validation across UI and API layers, including negative test scenarios
- Perform exploratory and regression testing for new releases, maintaining regression test coverage for functionality not yet automated
- Log, triage and track defects through to resolution, with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments
- Resolve minor, low-risk issues through AI-assisted pull requests where appropriate, while escalating more complex issues to the engineering team
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and document the testing environment to ensure it can be maintained by the wider engineering team
- Provide weekly updates covering test coverage progress, defects identified, blockers and upcoming priorities
