Role Overview
The Associate Engineer is an entry-level role for early-career engineers eager to learn and grow. Youโll write and test code under the guidance of senior engineers, contribute to well-scoped features and bug fixes, and develop a strong foundation in software engineering practices while building healthcare AI products that matter.

Responsibilities
- Write, test, and debug clean code for well-defined tasks under the guidance of more senior engineers
- Implement small features and bug fixes within an existing codebase
- Participate in code reviews as a reviewer and reviewee to learn the teamโs standards
- Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
- Collaborate with teammates in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Learn the product architecture, integration points (Epic, athenahealth, Liberty/RedSail), and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITECH)
- Document your work clearly and ask questions proactively to accelerate your learning
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (e.g., bootcamp plus a portfolio of projects)
- 0โ1 years of professional software development experience, including internships or significant academic/personal projects
- Foundational proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go)
- Understanding of core computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and version control (Git)
- Eagerness to learn, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
