As the Director of Data Center Operations at HostPapa you will lead and manage a team of professionals both internally and externally, focusing on consolidating and migrating equipment and data between contracted data centers. Reporting to the VP of Technology and Infrastructure, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our server infrastructure and manage the teams that build and maintain it.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our remote data centers, including server management, network operations, and security
- Plan, direct and coordinate all activities related to operating and maintaining data centers, server rooms and associated infrastructure, including budgets and resources
- Assist remote executives with developing and implementing a comprehensive data center strategy that aligns with business objectives
- Ensure the highest levels of uptime, performance, and reliability for our customers
- Develop, implement and secure adherence to operational procedures, processes and service level agreements
- Lead a team of remote technicians and engineers, including the Systems Operations, Server Health and Shared Migrations, and Network Operations team leads
- Stay up-to-date on the latest data center technologies and trends, to be able to conduct audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations and security protocols
- Manage relationships with data center partners and coordinate with them
About you:
- Significant experience managing remote data center partners
- Hands-on data center operations and infrastructure management experience
- Experience leading projects related to consolidating and migrating data center resources
- In-depth knowledge of data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, and security
- Proven track record of success in leading and motivating a team
- Strong understanding of data center compliance regulations, standards and best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
