HR People Generalist
Remote (MST/CST Hours)
3-month contract
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $40.00per hr.
Our client is a growing financial technology company seeking a Contract People Generalist to support its Human Resources team. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates in the U.S., with a preference for those working Mountain or Central Time Zone hours. In this role, you'll partner with HR Business Partners to support employee relations, compliance, performance management, HR operations, and policy administration. The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, customer-focused, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support HR programs related to employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, leave administration, and policy interpretation.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with required training programs using HRIS platforms such as Workday, while utilizing AI-assisted reporting tools to identify completion gaps and generate compliance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by monitoring regulatory updates and assisting with policy and process improvements.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including performance improvement plans, corrective actions, investigations, and exit interviews while preparing clear and consistent documentation.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to support complex employee situations by organizing documentation, researching case history, and preparing recommendations.
- Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and process documentation using modern productivity and AI-enabled tools.
- Support employee engagement initiatives by analyzing survey feedback and identifying trends that improve the employee experience.
- Facilitate HR meetings, training sessions, and follow-up activities while maintaining accurate meeting documentation and action items.
- Stay current on HR best practices, employment legislation, emerging technologies, and AI tools that improve HR operations and employee experience.
- Participate in cross-functional HR projects and initiatives, utilizing technology and AI tools to improve research, reporting, process efficiency, and project execution.

Required Skills:
- 3–5+ years of progressive Human Resources Generalist or HR Specialist experience.
- Experience supporting employees in a larger corporate environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Workday, Excel proficiency, comfort with AI-related tools or ways of working, and solid knowledge of HR practices and regulatory compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance, including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, unemployment, and employee relations.
- Experience working within an HRIS, preferably Workday or a comparable Human Capital Management system.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability as technology and HR processes continue to evolve.
