Associate Frontend Developer

We are looking for an Associate Frontend Developer to support our technical work for a specific, high-priority client engagement. Gulf Associates is currently advising an expanding pan-African investment group on a series of complex partnership decisions and capital deployments. This role involves building and refining the digital interfaces our clients use to interact with our commercial models and scenario data. As a fully remote position, you will work closely with our partners and research associates to ensure our technical tools reflect the ground reality of the markets where our clients operate.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain responsive web interfaces that present complex investment data in a clear, actionable format.
• Collaborate with senior partners to translate commercial logic and advisory positions into functional digital dashboards.
• Write clean, documented code to support various scenario-based models used by our pan-African client during negotiations.
• Iterate on user interface components based on direct feedback from decision-makers at sovereign entities and private family groups.
• Ensure all frontend assets are optimized for performance across different devices and network conditions common in the territories we serve.
• Assure the visual consistency of our advisory reports and technical tools to maintain a professional standard for high-stakes meetings.
• Integrate frontend components with existing data sources and backend services to provide real-time updates on market behaviors.
• Participate in internal reviews to identify ways to make our data presentation more intuitive for non-technical senior executives.

What you bring

• Basic proficiency in modern web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• A foundational understanding of building components within a framework such as React, Vue, or similar libraries.
• A strong interest in commercial logic and how data visualization can support big-picture investment decisions.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts simply to partners who focus on the commercial and regulatory side of a deal.
• A disciplined approach to testing and debugging to ensure our tools are reliable during client-facing sessions.
• High attention to detail, specifically regarding how layout and typography affect the clarity of complex financial information.
• Flexibility to adjust technical priorities as the ground reality of a negotiation or joint venture changes.
