Carelynk is a Halifax-based healthcare workforce platform. Long-term care homes and healthcare facilities across Nova Scotia use us to staff their shifts.

The staffing crisis in long-term care isn't abstract here. When a shift goes unfilled, a real facility runs short and real residents feel it. Our software is what stands between those two things.

We're a small, product-led team shipping to production continuously. You won't be maintaining someone else's legacy system — you'll be building the core of ours.

The roles

We're hiring two Full Stack Developers to work across our API, admin web app, and mobile app.

Both roles are broad by design. You'll own features end to end — from the Postgres schema, through the API, to the screen a scheduler or a nurse actually taps. You'll talk to the people using what you build, and you'll see the impact of it in production the same week.

What we actually run today, not an aspirational list:

Backend — Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, Knex migrations, Zod Web — React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Redux Toolkit, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, React Hook Form Mobile — React Native (iOS + Android), React Navigation, Redux Toolkit, Firebase Cloud Messaging Infrastructure — AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, SES, SNS), CI/CD pipelines, Sentry

What we're looking for

3–7 years building and shipping production web applications

Strong TypeScript across both front end and back end

Solid PostgreSQL — you're comfortable reading a query plan and writing SQL without an ORM holding your hand

Real experience with React; React Native experience is a strong plus, but we'll teach it to the right person

You've operated what you've built: debugging production incidents, reading logs and traces, understanding why something broke at 6am and not just in your test suite

Clear written communication — we're a small team and decisions get made in writing

Based in Halifax / HRM, or ready to relocate here — this role is hybrid and on-site time is part of it

Already legally entitled to work in Canada — we can't sponsor work permits or visas

Bonus points for: AWS depth, experience with regulated or healthcare data, mobile release experience (App Store / Play Store), and AI/LLM feature work.

What we're honestly not looking for

Specialists who only want to touch one layer. Everyone here reads SQL, writes React, and ships to a real customer. If the phrase "that's a backend problem" is in your vocabulary, we're probably not the right fit.

This is a hybrid role based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. You must either already live in the Halifax area or be willing to relocate here before starting. We are not able to consider fully remote candidates, and we are not hiring outside Nova Scotia.
