Software Developer in United States

Valens Software is a developer and distributor of enterprise-level Business Management software, specializing in the Fire and Life Safety industry. 

Our technology stack includes web- and mobile-based applications, communicating with a hosted server platform, providing real-time database information to a wide-spread client base.

We are looking for developers who want to progress a career in multi-disciplinary software development, learn new cross-platform technologies, share technical expertise with the Development Team, and improve your Development/DevOps integration skills.

We have multiple openings at our Kennesaw, Georgia (metro Atlanta) office and are seeking staff who can be comfortable in both team-based and solo effort scenarios. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in one (or more) of the following areas: 

• Java/JS Programming
• Jasper
• Progress DBMS/ABL
• Isomorphic Smart Client
• Solar 2D (Lua/C++)

We will provide on-the-job application training after you are hired.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coding (we get paid for quality software, delivered quickly; so will you)
• Take direction from our Product Management team
• Communicate issues clearly and promptly as they arise
• Participate effectively in daily stand-up (scrum) Developer sessions
• Assist your peers in code reviews and unit testing
• Develop your ability to accurately and efficiently estimate work requirements

Required Qualifications:

• 2 - 4 years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (preferred)
• Adaptable to decisions made quickly by peers
• Collaborative and a great team player
• Punctual to deadlines set by project owners when it comes to tasks
• Ability to learn quickly and talk about solutions to project owners
• Transparent on issues happening through the development process
