Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead a 10-week Enterprise Data Centralization Assessment for a client operating within a highly distributed, system-centric environment.
This role is architecture-first and advisory in nature, focused on enterprise discovery, data strategy, target architecture definition, governance, and roadmap creation. The successful assessment will establish the foundation for a multi-phase enterprise data platform implementation.
The ideal candidate is an experienced enterprise architect who has successfully led discovery engagements, defined enterprise data strategies, and partnered directly with executive stakeholders to modernize enterprise data ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Discovery & Assessment
- Lead the end-to-end enterprise data assessment as the primary technical authority.
- Conduct discovery across operational, financial, ERP, HR, databases, spreadsheets, and collaboration platforms.
- Document current-state data architecture, integrations, ownership, and data quality.
- Identify architectural gaps, risks, and governance opportunities.

Enterprise Data Strategy
- Partner with business and technology leaders to identify high-value business domains and KPIs.
- Perform KPI-to-source analysis to map enterprise data requirements.
- Develop enterprise-wide data architecture recommendations aligned with business priorities.
Architecture & Platform Evaluation
- Define conceptual future-state enterprise data architecture.
- Evaluate modern enterprise data platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Snowflake, and similar technologies.
- Recommend enterprise-wide integration and data-sharing patterns.
- Remain platform agnostic while recommending future architecture.

Governance & Roadmap
- Define foundational governance, ownership, access, and data quality standards.
- Develop executive-ready architecture documentation and implementation roadmaps.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture or Enterprise Information Architecture.
- Experience leading enterprise assessment and discovery engagements.
- Strong knowledge of modern data platforms including data lakes, lakehouses, and cloud data warehouses.
- Experience working across ERP, operational systems, SQL databases, spreadsheets, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience defining enterprise data strategy rather than solely implementing technology solutions.
- Proven experience designing enterprise data platforms from the ground up.
